Marcelina is an author and a social scientist (PhD) from the University of Dar es Salaam focusing on evaluating interventions that enhance youth wellbeing. The recommendations from her study helped to establish and shape KJRO. She has more than 20 years of work experience in the Development, Diplomatic and Humanitarian sectors. Marcelina worked from the field, national up to international levels with remarkable achievements. She managed National CSO’s programmes on development, governance, entrepreneurship, gender mainstreaming, social accountability, mental health/ psychosocial support (resilience and Solution Focused Approach), and peace building related projects. All these contributions helped to transform mind-sets of many citizens in Tanzania and promoted policies that work for the people. She played a key role in the establishment and nurturing of the orphans (children and youth) organization which stands as a best practice in the country and beyond. Marcelina supports youth to re-write their stories through promotion of resilience under Kijana Jasiri organization. She is a proficient trainer and certified youth regional facilitator and coach.
